Quarter Final Weekend

For the first time in years the Saracens hosted two home games in the playoffs, the 2nd team faced RCM III and the 1st team faced The Mirage.

Saracens II kicked off at 1:30pm and from the get go they kept the ball in RCM's territory with some great defense. Handling errors cost us points early on however as the nerves settled the team started scoring and with the wind at our back we were able to mount a 24-0 half-time lead.

The 2nd half was a very testy affair with our "friends" from RCM becoming extremely violent at the breakdowns, taking out two of our players with shots to the face. With blood pouring from the mouths of our two players as they walked off the field it would have been easy for the young Saracens to lose their cool. That is not what happened, they kept their composure, scored another try and won the game 31-7. Great job! MAN OF THE MATCH: Josh Blair

Saracens I kicked off at 3pm vs. the Mirage a new team from Gatineau. With just enough players to field a team the Mirage came to Ormstown to give us a game. They are a big team if you compare them to the norm of the league and it would be a great test for our forwards.

With another slow start and some needles penalties it took some time for the Saracens to score points. After 15min of settling down the forward pack dominated the scrums and line-outs to put us in a great position to score and that's exactly what we did, 34-0 half-time lead.

The 2nd half started off badly with a penalty that allowed the Mirage to set up a line out on our 5m line and drive the ball in for a score. That would be all the Saracens conceded as they went on to dominate the set pieces and win the breakdowns, final 63-5. MAN OF THE MATCH: Stephane Ouellette
