In a weekend where both teams were supposed to be off because of Ormstown Fair duties, the men found a way to come together and make it memorable home opener vs Beaconsfield.

SARACENS II Vs. BRFC II
The young Saracens II team did not have the start that they would have liked as penalties and favorable wind gave the visiting team an opportunity to score 2 quick tries. Down by 10 points the boys worked their way back scoring a penalty goal drawing the game a little closer. Another try by BRFC II did not break the Saracens spirits as they answered with a try of their own, half-time score 10-15 in favour of BRFC II.

The young guns started the 2nd half well and corrected many of the mistakes and penalties of the 1st half. Taking the lead early in the 2nd with a great try they were able to keep Beaconsfield in their territory for a good part of the half. However the experience of the other side saw them march down the field and score a try to take the lead with little time left. What happened next was a thing of beauty as the Saracens prepared themselves in the end zone to receive the convert kick and run it back to half to take a quick kick-off. IT WORKED! catching BRFC completely off guard three Saracens worked together and scored the game winning try.

SARACENS I Vs. BRFC I
The Saracens 1st team started the game much like their 2nd team conceding several penalties to their opponents. The difference in this game was that our defense kept them out of the end zone focing them to go for the penalty kick instead. Down 0 - 3 the Saracens setteled their nerves and started working together scoring a solid try and taking the early lead, a lead that they would not relinquish for the rest of the game. Up 10-6 at half, the Saracens now had the wind in their face for the 2nd half.
With the wind our face and the amount of penalties we were committing, it looked like BRFC I would take advantage of the situation and steal the victory. That was not the case! The Saracens I team worked hard on defense and took advantage of some great counter attacks to score two more tries and keep Beaconsfield from drawing close enough to get the bonus point. This is huge as we come away with 5 points in this game and our opponents get 0.
