Huge Win on Les Plains D'Abraham!!!

The Saracens 1st team pull off a huge victory on les Plains D'Abraham vs Quebec. With a depleted and relatively inexperience front row the Saracens were able to do something they have not done consistently since the beginning of the season, win its own scrums. Andy Rankin making his fist start at loose head had a stellar first game playing against a strong A division team. However this victory was not the story of one individual, but a complete team effort, the likes of which had not been seen since the 2009 season.

All was not peachy at the start as this season's norm crept in early; a slow start, bad penalties and missed tackles which lead to Quebec scoring early. With about 10min of promising rugby the Saracens looked like they would draw level but the mistakes crept in again and they found themselves down 0-12 after 20min of play. That's when things changed, the Saracens started to dictate play with great kicking by, Ouellette, Blair, and Aldridge that put the team in range to score its first try. Half time score 7-12 in favour of Quebec.

The 2nd half was a near replica of the 1st but this time the Saracens were able to keep Quebec from scoring with a try saving tackle by our #10 and several big hits by our centres that seemed to disrupt any cohesion Quebec had in the 1st half. A lucky bounce for the Saracens in the last 15min of the game awarded them a scrum on Quebec's 5 meter line, the pack secured clean ball for the backs and a brilliant crash by Josh Blair tied the game up 12-12. The great thing about the try was its placement, between the post for a easy and successful convert. Victory was confirmed when Quebec knocked-on the ball as they were about to score a try with seconds left. Final Score 14-12 in favour of Saracens I
