Mixed Outcomes vs TMR

On a hot and sunny day in Ormstown both men's teams took to the pitch to face off against TMR. On this day it was the young Saracens 2nd team that pulled it all together to show what happens when all 15 players are working in the same direction.
-
With a good start the Sarancens 2nd team showed TMR II that they were going to be in a tough game and at the end of the first half it looked like it was going to be a tough, low scoring affair. Half time score 5-3 in favour of Saracens II.
-
It was the 2nd half where the young guns really brought the pressure on. The forwards were working hard to get the backs the ball and the backs were tearing apart TMR II's mid field with run after run and there was support on every line break. 4 tries were scored in the 2nd half to TMR II's lone try. The boys managed to score 26 points in the 2nd half for the convincing win and more importantly the all important bonus point. Final Score Saracens II 31, TMR II 8.

The 1st Team's story was much different on this day. From the start TMR I made a statement with a devastating scrum and some good hard hits, not to mention some help from a referee with a TMR background. All that made it extremely difficult for the Saracens to get anything going, as any venture into TMR's 22 was turned around by a penalty and cleared out of the zone. That said it was still a very close battle between the two teams. Half time score 0-13 in favour of TMR I.
-
After a half time ribbing by the coach and some front row substitutions, things started to settle down in the scrums. The boys also started to play more as a team and soon score their first try bringing the sore within 7 points. However much like the first half anytime the Saracens found themselves in TMR's 22 they were penalized and TMR managed to clear it. After a tough battle in the 2nd half and some missed opportunities, the first half score was too hard to surmount. Final Score 7-19 in favour of TMR I.
