2011 Season Preview

Welcome back to what will surely be an exciting rugby season for the Saracens Men. The FRQ has been restructured to include the Ottawa teams once again and hopefully this time it will work to everyone benefit and especially rugby in Quebec.

There are a lot of positives about the men's teams this year as we prepare to kick-off our 40th season vs the Ottawa Beavers (@ Twin Elm). For starters Josh Blair is currently in Vancouver at the Canada U20 preparation camp and has a great chance to represent Canada in Georgia later this month. We have 15 rookies joining the club this year most of whom played for our junior academy and some will be starting the season on the 1st team which is always exciting to see.

Of the 46 registered men only 5 players are over 30 and the core from last year's team are back for another season ready to win the division and title. Competition will be stiff as we play TMR, RCM, Ott. Scottish, Ott. Beavers and an old foe Parc-O. Having only played TMR last season, the lead up to each game will be a first for most of us.

Saracens have two goals this season, promotion into the FRQ Premiere League for 2012 and a 2011 Division Championship title for both men's teams. GOOD LUCK SARACENS!
